I made the newspaper!!

Well... I did have an interview, so I knew I would be in the paper, it just feels a little weird to be that much in the public eye.

As I mentioned earlier, I have less than two weeks left until I leave.  And I'd love it if you could go to the Mercy Ships donation website (click on the words "Mercy Ships" in this paragraph) to help me finish raising my support!

Only about 10 days until I head to Texas for training, and I'm still asking myself "How do you pack for Africa?"  Especially since I need to pack for Texas as well.  I'm trying really hard to remember the old adage for travelling: "Bring half as many clothes as you think you need, and twice as much cash."  Everyone I talk to has opinions and "advice," but in the end, it's my decision what I value, and what I pack.  It also largely depends on what will fit into my luggage.  I made a list of all the things that it's been recommended I bring.  It's three pages long.  I don't think it will all fit, especially since my goal is to fit it all into a single duffle bag plus a carry-on backpack.  I can see myself giving in sometime next week and deciding to bring two duffles.

I wonder how much chocolate would fit in a second duffle.... actually that is one thing I'm going to do without, since it will melt pretty fast and just turn into a big mess.  I may go through withdrawal!   On the plus side, once I get to the ship (end of July), they have a Starbucks on board!!!  Now I bet you all want to join me on the ship!  lol!
