Thanksgiving

There's something about being on holidays that leaves me not wanting to sit around writing things out.  I'm too busy enjoying life to write about it.  But as a thank you to all of you who do check this site out regularly, I'll post a few pictures and tell you what I'm thankful for...

I'm thankful for the beautiful colors on the tundra, and that I got to go on holidays just as things were changing color.  Look close and you can see the reds and yellows of the plants.  I'm thankful that the stream is small enough to be crossed easily and that there's patches with very few rocks where the plants are soft and fun to walk across.  I'm thankful for the juicy berries that are so much fun to pick.  I'm thankful for the opportunity I've had to work in the north, even if that season may be ending soon.

I'm thankful for the trees in Manitoba and how they change color and shed their leaves each year.  I'm thankful for the beautiful provincial parks just waiting to be explored.  I'm thankful for the gorgeous fall we've been having that makes it so easy to get out and enjoy nature.

I'm thankful for the flat prairies, and the beauty of them.  I'm thankful for the friends who are so willing to get out and enjoy them with me.  I'm thankful for the sunlight that warms us and cheers us up.

I'm thankful that I was able to go to Calgary and visit my cousin, it really felt like reconnecting with her.  I'm thankful for cupcakes (seriously, who doesn't love cupcakes???), and for the fun we had decorating them.  I'm thankful for family, near and far.  Thankful for the love of my family, everyone of them is precious to me.

I'm thankful for lakes, they're so peaceful, there's just something soothing about them.  I'm thankful for mountains, so majestic to behold.  Sometimes they are such an amazing view!  (sometimes they block the sunsets hehehe!) I'm thankful for clean mountain air and long walks in it.  I'm thankful for big old trees that almost seem to touch the sky.

I'm thankful for friends, I sometimes can't believe how many special friends I have.  I'm thankful that they love to go out for amazing meals with me.  And that they can balance the fun and the serious.

I'm thankful that my friends have a weird side... and that they are so willing to share their homes, their food, their lives with me.  I'm thankful for good food (like that cheesecake she's holding).

I'm thankful for my friend's kids.  Every one of them is special, and so much fun.  I'm thankful for all the fun things I've had a chance to do in the last few weeks, both with and without kids in tow.

I'm thankful for a lot more than that, but I think the list is long enough, and you get the impression.  Have a great Thanksgiving.

I can't believe you are on your way back. And I'm thankful for your smile and your faithfulness in all you do.
